Mat Cleaning Volunteers Needed
Have you earned your work credits for the year yet? Mat cleaning is a fun way to earn some of those credits and get your cardio routine done at the same time. It only takes a morning to get our mats in ship shape for the Obedience and Rally trial.
We need power washers, wet/dry vac’s, push brooms, squeegees, fans and most of all BODIES! Approximately 4 hours, 2 WORK CREDITS. No experience required. The adage of ‘many hands making light work’ is really true when we clean our mats. The more volunteers, the easier it is to do. Sign-up sheet at front table on training nights. Get all the details here, or contact Bob Boeke or Cheryl Hettinger for more information.

Obedience / Rally Stewards Needed!
We will be hosting our annual obedience and rally trials on November 19 and 20. There will be two obedience and two rally trials on Saturday and one of each on Sunday. If any club members are looking to become a judge, you need to steward in the class you are applying for a minimum of ten times. These trials are an opportunity to gain three of those requirements. Please reach out to trial chair, Taffy Wille or chief ring steward, Cathy Fleury, to prearrange your assignment. Other openings will be available for signup closer to the trial date when an online signup is made available. We cannot run our trials without the help from members so please consider volunteering.
FVDTC Members: We Want You!
If you are an FVDTC club member, and want to volunteer to help at a club event, you have several options. The easiest is to go to the club volunteer page:
Volunteer to Help!
You can also check the calendar or events pages, and then contact the appropriate committee chair.
If you want to be one of our invaluable instructors or helpers, contact the Director of Training.
Remember, every time you volunteer, you earn work credits toward awards and membership discounts. Thank you for your help.
Our policies continue to evolve, based on feedback from our guests and members, and instructions from CDC, WHO and the governor. Although we are back to full capacity, and drop-in trainers are welcome, you can reserve a timeslot for practice and run-thru classes. Trainers who have reserved a slot online will have priority over drop-in trainers.

COVID-19 Policy as of March, 2022
FVDTC’s COVID policy has been to closely adhere to the guidelines from the CDC, the Governor, and the Kane County Health Department. Per the CDC, Kane County is now at a low level of risk for COVID-19 transmission, so the newest update to our policy is:
- If you have tested positive for COVID-19, do not come to training for 10 days
- We prefer that you stay home if you have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, but — at a minimum — wear a mask while at training
- All others are free to choose whether to wear a mask, based on your vaccination status, personal level of risk, and your comfort level.
As always, FVDTC is dedicated to the safety and well-being of our members and guests while we interact with our dogs and each other. Please, consider “the other guy” when making attendance and masking decisions.
