Thursday Night Training Schedule Change
For those of you who are working Utility, there will be a change in the ring schedule, starting on Thursday, April 4. From 7:00 - 7:20 in ring 4, Loretta Lazarra will be offering “Beginning Utility” instruction. In that limited time, there will not be opportunity to run all the utility exercises, so each week you will have the opportunity to pick 3 to work on. From 7:20 - 8:00pm, the ring will be available for run-thrus; there may not always be an instructor available, but you can work on your own or ask your fellow trainers for help. From 8:00pm onward, the current schedule will remain in place. Contact Will Short if you have questions.
FVDTC Annual Dinner
FVDTC's Annual Dinner "The Best Things in Life Are Furry" will be held in Geneva, on Sunday April 21.
Location: Riverside Receptions, Geneva
Date: Sunday, April 21
Cost: $38 / person
Return your invitation by April 10 or Contact Candy Ellis if you have questions.
Compton Award Voting
FVDTC Members - Voting is open for the Sally Compton Award!
The Sally Compton Service Award was created in 1995 to acknowledge Sally Compton and her many, many years of service to the club which epitomized the true spirit of volunteerism. For 2024, we have four nominees for the Compton award. Please carefully consider who you think best emulates Sally's spirit of service and vote online today. (Deadline is March 31) Contact Sue MacPherson if you have questions
K-9 Buddies Club
Starting in April, you'll start to see a bunch of younger-than-average dog trainers on training night. FVDTC is sponsoring the K-9 Buddies Club from 4-H. The folks will spend April learning obedience basics before moving on to Rally in May, and dog care and more later in the year. There is a year-long schedule of events, including training, classroom learning, videos and crafts.
If you know of someone, ages 9 - 18, who would be interested, contact Donna Nuger (dnuger@illinois.edu) for more information.
