Fox Valley has over 200 members who train their dogs in obedience, agility, tracking and conformation. The Board of Directors oversees a variety of events throughout the year. Our membership roster includes our qualified instructors, judges from all levels of competition, and many of your neighbors who just want to learn to care for their dogs. Students who have completed the Beginning Obedience class are invited to join the club. The annual membership fee is $90. (Our membership year is June 1st through May 31st)
Why do you want to join? There are a number of benefits to being a club member - first and foremost - you have the opportunity to continue to improve your relationship with your dog and HAVE FUN! The costs are greatly reduced to continue training as a member - less than half of the Guest training fee. Your next Puppy or Beginners’ classes are lower as a club member. You receive priority for using advanced level training ring space. Plus you are able to enjoy the advanced level drop-in classes at no additional costs.
We are a totally volunteer organization. Our Board of Directors, Instructors and countless others give greatly of their time to run the club. Anyone wishing to become an active member (more than just a training member) need only say "How can I help?" to let us know you are interested. You could work one day a year at the November Obedience Trial, one day a month at our correction clinics/matches or one day a week as an instructor - to name a few of the varied opportunities.
While we have members who are AKC judges and other members who are nationally known in the sport, for most of us, Obedience is a hobby. We find friends at Fox Valley who share the same basic interest - Love of dogs.
